Withdrawing from Super

Benefit Payment Standards

The major superannuation conditions of release that are used by members to be able to access some or all of their superannuation savings include:

  • Reaching age 65;
  • Termination of an employment arrangement after reaching age 60;
  • Permanent retirement after reaching preservation age;
  • Reaching preservation age (where not yet permanently), benefits will be available through a ‘transition to retirement’ pension (discussed below).
